Producers Co-op -- A Legacy of Growth and Service to Texas Agriculture
Humble Beginnings to Industry Leader

Expanding to Meet Changing Agricultural Needs
Over the decades, the Co-op has adapted to meet the evolving needs of the agricultural industry:
- 1946 – Built the Castell Avenue office and retail sales building in New Braunfels.
- 1960 – Purchased the Clear Springs gin property, now a grain storage facility with a total capacity of 18 million pounds.
- 1992 – Expanded into Seguin, acquiring the former Farmers Feed and Supply store. The Seguin store is now located at IH-10 and FM 725.
- 2006 – Opened the La Vernia Country Store on Hwy 87 to better serve the growing rural community.
- 2019 – Built a state-of-the-art feed mill on IH-10 at Schwab Road, featuring 15 million pounds of grain storage and a 43,000-square-foot warehouse. This facility specializes in show animal feeds, which now make up 70% of the mill’s nearly 100-ton daily output.
- 2021 – Opened a new retail location, Producers Co-Op Country Store - New Braunfels, to continue serving the next generation of agricultural producers.
Originally, the Co-op’s business focused on wool and mohair marketing, but as sheep and goat production declined, it shifted to grain marketing—now handling over 70 million pounds of grain annually, bringing nearly $5 million to area farmers. Today, the Co-op is a leader in livestock feed manufacturing and distribution. With its fleet of delivery trucks, it provides bulk and bagged feed to dairies, ranchers, horse farms, and independent feed dealers across Texas. For over 80 years, Producers Co-op has been more than just a business—it’s been a partner to farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. As it continues to grow and innovate, the Co-op remains dedicated to its mission of supporting agriculture and strengthening local economies. Whether you’re a lifelong member or just discovering the Co-op, there’s never been a better time to be a part of this legacy.
